    Lahontan
An award winning, private golf club community near North Lake Tahoe featuring a variety of year-round family recreational activities including an eighteen-hole golf course. Surrounded by 7200-acres of Sierra parkland, Lahontan community buildings are reminiscent of Lake Tahoe's historic grand estates and summer lodges.

Lahontan's master architectural plan is based on respect and consideration for the natural environment. The public buildings are framed with massive Douglas fir timbers and incorporate natural stone supporting columns and fireplaces. The structures are clad with rough sawn wood and roofed with slate or copper. Native materials and timeless, organic architecture form a harmonious partnership with the forested knolls and rock-faced ridges of the Sierra landscape.

Buildings were designed by Faulkner Architects, and built by Kitchell Construction. Timbercraft designers and craftsmen worked with the architects and builders from November 1997 to April 1999 to create timber structures for the eight buildings that form the core of the Lahontan community.
